16 years old
and ready for the working world, well not just yet. Public relations is
everywhere, no matter where you look and no matter what line of work you aspire
to get into. People say that public relations is the back bone to most
organisations and its companies success, it is also said that it holds the
power to make or break an organisations reputation. But with great power comes
great responsibility and to do the job right you need the expertise and
knowledge to do so. Having that opportunity to get ahead of the game by
obtaining my certificate four in Public Relations and learning a vast skill set
for when I eventually enter the workforce is something that interested me when
looking at my options for 2012.
If I was to
define Public relations now it would be a little something like this, Public
relations is like a bridge among companies/organisations and the people it is
impacting, both internally and externally, through the use of oral, visual
and physical means, Public relations people work at a constant pace to keep
communication channels clear, therefore, avoiding tarnished reputation and the
loss of consumer loyalty.
Since public
relations began, the title has become an umbrella for so many other jobs and
continues to expand with the demand of our growing world. For me, that was the
most appealing part of public relations, being able to do a job that is always
evolving and inspiring creativity makes the job worth doing.
so i guess that's why I picked PR.
